Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

Overview

Financial Clarity Co. ("we," "us," or "our") provides bookkeeping services to clients and operates an internal task management application used by our own staff to track client work. This policy explains what information we collect — from both our clients and through our internal application — how we use it, and the choices you have, including how to opt out of text message (SMS) communications.

Information We Collect

In the course of providing bookkeeping services, we may collect contact information from our clients, such as name, business name, email address, and phone number, along with financial and business records provided to us for bookkeeping purposes (e.g., bank statements, invoices, receipts).

Our internal task tracker separately stores information that our own staff enter directly, such as client names, task details, due dates, notes, and login references for the software our practice uses on behalf of clients. This information is entered by our team for our own recordkeeping and is not collected from, or shared with, the general public.

Text Messaging (SMS) Program

If a client provides their mobile phone number and agrees to receive text messages from Financial Clarity Co., we may send SMS updates about that client's bookkeeping tasks, document requests, and deadline reminders.

No-Share Clause for SMS Opt-In Data

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in information collected through our text messaging program are never shared, sold, rented, or otherwise disclosed to any third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. This data is used solely by Financial Clarity Co. to send the bookkeeping-related text messages described above and is not used for any other purpose.

Use of Google User Data

Our internal application connects to certain Google services using OAuth, strictly to support our own team's workflow:

We do not use Google user data for advertising purposes, and we do not sell or share Google user data with third parties. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data Storage & Security

Application data is stored in a cloud database with access restricted to authenticated members of our team. We take reasonable measures to protect this information but cannot guarantee absolute security, as is the case with any online system.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as it is needed to support our bookkeeping services and internal operations, or as required by applicable recordkeeping obligations. We can remove specific records on request.

Third Parties

We do not sell personal information. We use third-party infrastructure providers (such as our hosting and database providers) solely to operate the application; these providers do not use the data for their own purposes.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
